Terms of Service
Last updated November 1, 2026
NEON MUTINY is a game made by James Soldinger and published by Vapor LLC (“Vapor LLC,” “we,” “us”). These terms cover the game and the website at neonmutiny.com (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian, who agrees to them on your behalf.
2. The game
NEON MUTINY is free to play in your web browser. There are no purchases in the game. We may change, add, remove, pause, or end any part of the Service at any time, including game modes, balance, upgrade prices, scores, and saves, without notice.
Supporting the game. You can choose to make a one-time payment through Stripe to support development. Support is voluntary, goes to Vapor LLC, is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible, and does not buy any in-game item, advantage, or account feature. Stripe processes the payment under its own terms. If you have a problem with a payment, email james@vapor.technology.
3. Your pilot ID and account
- When you first play on neonmutiny.com, the game creates an anonymous pilot ID so your progress and scores can be saved. You do not need an email to play.
- You can add an email to sign up, and use it to log in on other devices. Keep access to that email; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- You are responsible for what happens under your pilot ID.
- You can delete your cloud account at any time in the game: open Cloud Save and choose Delete Cloud Account.
4. Call signs and the leaderboard
Your call sign and your best runs (score, time, rig, kills, level, combo and the date) are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Pick a call sign that follows these rules:
- No slurs, hate, harassment, threats or sexual content.
- No pretending to be someone else, and no personal information such as real names, phone numbers or addresses.
- No ads or links.
Call signs pass through a word filter and players can report one. We may change, hide or remove any call sign or score, and suspend or remove any player, at our discretion.
5. Play fair
When you use the Service, you agree not to:
- cheat, including posting scores you did not earn in normal play, using modified copies of the game, bots or scripts, or exploiting bugs to climb the leaderboard;
- attack, overload, probe or disrupt the Service, its servers or its database, or get around its security or limits;
- scrape the Service or collect other players' information;
- copy, sell, rent or redistribute the game or its parts; or
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
We may remove scores and suspend or remove players who break these rules.
6. Who owns what
The game, its code, art, characters, story, voice, music (including the NEON AFTERGLOW soundtrack), the NEON MUTINY name and logo, and the website are owned by Vapor LLC or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to play the game in your browser for personal, non-commercial use. Everything not expressly granted is reserved.
Videos and streams are welcome. You may record, stream and share videos and screenshots of your own gameplay, including on channels that earn money, as long as you do not present them as official, do not sell the game's art, music or characters on their own, and do not use them to mislead people.
7. Satire
NEON MUTINY is satire. The AI Overlords, their corporations and every other character are fictional parodies. They are not endorsed by, affiliated with or connected to any real person or company, and nothing in the game is a statement of fact about anyone.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Other services
The Service runs on services from other companies, such as hosting, a database and email delivery (see the Privacy Policy). We are not responsible for their services, and links to other websites are not endorsements.
10. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Vapor LLC makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that saves, scores or progress will never be lost or reset.
11. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Vapor LLC and its members, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed fifty US dollars (US$50). Some places do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using the Service, you agree to cover Vapor LLC's reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, that result from claims by others.
13. Ending
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your cloud account in the game. We may suspend or end your access at any time, including if you break these terms. Sections 6 through 15 continue to apply after that.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you and Vapor LLC agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
